Thank You Lakewood Police Department!

My oldest son and I were recently at the Kauffman Park Playground waiting for flag football practice to start at Jimmy Foxx Field.

Similar to those who have complained about Madison Park, the Kauffman Park Playground was being taken over by middle school/high school kids using extreme profanity and trying to bully my son … right in front of me. So, I simply read the sign posted at the park, called the Lakewood Police Department, and reported the violations. Within minutes (if even that), a police officer was on the scene and told the kids to leave. They complained, but left. We then enjoyed the park … graffiti and all. Sometimes we all need to collectively stop complaining and simply take back our public parks by placing a call to the LPD … they do great work.

As an aside, the basketball hoops were full of kids and not a profane word was heard. Nice job LOBC, as well.
