Good! This is worth a $535 million dollar gamble. The US needs to invest in more renewable energy projects like this.

there were not proper tariffs on solar generating materials.
Perhaps also they were too early. Like MCI's commercial Email gambit in the 80s.
perhaps also, there was corporate embezzling.
what is the difference between a "loan" and a "loan guarantee"? how much money did they actually borrow?
even the railroad heroes of the first few decades enjoyed government backed financing and landgrants twice the size of texas.
