The steeple like many of the valuable things from within the church are still owned by the
sister parish that will scrap the steeple for the copper on it.

The church looks afraid in this shot. It looks like it's waiting for something terrible to happen.

Technically I guess these photos should be before Jim's.

The crane approaches the spire with a big canvas harness.

From the cage on the crane the spire removers lasso the spire with the harness. I didn't quite get them attaching it.


Hoping to find children hammering small bits of green copper into toys to play with in the parking lot when I go by there again.

The steeple sits as the rest of the church seems to disappear minute by minute.

You can see how thick the copper is.

Almost gone!

100 year old timber used almost 100 years ago! The church was built before laminates,
so these beams are extremely old growth when it was used in 1913.
