Drug Mart Incident

Anyone know what happened at the eastern Drug Mart on Tuesday of this week? My parents said the whole area was blocked off with police and other emergency vehicles. Supposedly today there was extra security--was there a robbery/shooting??

I heard Drug Mart is looking to relocate at either Ganley Olds or the old Rego's.

Why would that lead to emergency vehicles and extra security?

Ed, why would DDM want to move their east store to within walking distance of their west store? Was this from a reliable source?

Lakewood as a whole is walkable. There are already Walgreens and CVS stores within walking distance, why not Drugmart? If they can build a larger, more modern store with better parking, why not do it?

Well, the CVS's and Riteaids would be a long walk apart from each other. The Drug Marts would be a short walk. A Bunts Road location would make sense if they were trying to consolidate both stores, but they just announced an expansion of the west store.

Looking at the police call logs for that day, there was a motor vehicle accident near the east end Drug Mart. Not sure why this would warrant extra security the next day, but that was all that was listed for that day.

I have a hard time remembering my days...but I was over at the library either Monday or Tuesday(the farmers market and live band was outside)...and I noticed 2 cop cars parked outside the pharmacy and two cops were talking to a young girl...didnt see any cuffs,etc. She looked younger and "hooker-ish"...I was in there a good 30 mins...came out and everyone was gone...

I have since heard a rumor that a child on a bike was hit by a car attempting to exit through the enter-only driveway. Seems like a likely explanation, though no idea why there seemed to be extra security the next day. Coincidence or a separate incident, I guess.
