Won't you be my neighbor?"
No problem here with discussing the need for a leather shop in Lakewood. My issue was with the "wink wink, nudge nudge" of "what kind of store would a gay man open?" And I was aware of who was doing the asking.
“Never let a good crisis go to waste." - Winston Churchill (Quote later appropriated by Rahm Emanuel)
Whatever type of store he opens, I'm guessing everything will be the best and he'll charge extra because it's the best and the best kind of people will buy his best stuff for the best price he can get. Such good stuff - the best stuff. All the stores in Lakewood should only be selling the best stuff. And that storefront he rents might not start out the best, but when Jackie gets done putting beautiful display cases in and repaints, well, the landlord is going to start charging him more because the storefront is the best and can get the best store operators to pay the biggest price. Let the customers that only pay $600 rent purchase their goods from walmart. Lakewood is only for the best customers that want the best products, like the ones that will be in Jackie's store, which is the best.
Also, I don't think I've met any people that USED to be gay. It takes different strokes to move the world. I always have to break out the mustiest colloquialisms for Jackie.
Jackie: it means something like "the oldest cliches" but sounds much cooler than that. I'm picking on you a little bit, it's true, but mostly I'm celebrating your uniqueness. Because I'm a fan of the unique, and you sir are definitely unique.
