I believe that allows them a chance to play, but the artist also has a chance to say no. Many an artist has gotten wealthy off of people using their songs without asking, even after paying ASCAP.

I am just stunned and amazed that over the past two weeks we have ALL witnessed history in the making. From a president hopeful that is " of color" to a vice-president hopeful that is "testosterone challenged" I cannot believe this is the best we can do. Pit bull banter and comments on outfits has nothing to do with what we all just witnessed. Regardless of what your political affiliation is (And by the tone of this thread I would guess democratic...) we have all been a part of yet another historical moment which should not be demeaned by idle chatter over song choices and the cost of an outfit because both sides of the street are then open game and in my humble opinion equally culpable. So, if we are going to go down this road then let's do so fairly...if not, let's all take the high one and speak intelligently and stick with the issues at hand. Let the games begin.

Isn't the first woman running for President a bit more historic than the first woman to be nominated for VP?

Where was this post back in March when Ohio faced a challenging primary between the first candidate "of color" and the first "testosterone challenged" candidate?

I didn't see anyone sticking up for Hillary....

With all due respect to you Ivor. I am not sticking up nor putting down anyone. That was my point. I can start if you wish. It would not be pretty. My point simply was...history....on both sides of the street. We should all feel proud, not petty.

It is not the "Republicans" who supported or initiated the pit bull ban.

It is the "We (the government) are way smarter than you (citizen) and we are going to protect you from yourself" crowd. I wish they had a shorter name for that. Oh wait, I think they do.

I laughed at the convention at the pitbull analogy because I knew the LO would be burning up.
