Legendary boys basketball coach Phil Argento has announced his retirement. He has been in coaching for decades, including the last seven years as Head Coach of Lakewood. He brought stability and success to a Ranger program that had fallen into an abyss during the early and mid 2000s. Argento was well known in basketball circles, playing alongside Pat Riley at the University of Kentucky under the iconic Adolph Rupp.
LHS Athletic Director Sean Jackson says that Argento simply felt "it was time" to move on. Jackson says he told Argento could stay as long as he wanted to. Lakewood Assistant Coach Alex Cammock will take over reins of the program. Jackson expects Cammock to be approved by the Board of Education at their October 19th meeting.

Congrats on a great career.
Excited to have Head Coach Cammock direct the program and keep the system from K - 12 running well.
