Lakewood Child Seeks Bone Marrow Donor

Post by Michael Deneen »

Maisie is an intelligent, sweet and beautiful 6 year old Lakewood girl who has recently been diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia.

She needs a bone marrow transplant.

There will be a bone marrow match drive at St. Luke's McBride Hall on Sunday, September 27th from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Some important things to keep in mind:
- must be between the ages of 18 and 44 and in good health
- by joining the bone marrow register, you must be willing to help whomever you get matched to (i.e., can't limit it to just Maisie)
- process involves some paperwork and a simple cheek swab (about 10 to 15 minutes)

To attend the drive or to learn more about Maisie, visit this Facebook page:

I realize there is a lot going on in town right now, but let's all try to help this little girl.

Here's a report from Channel 8.
