Lakewood Hospital Association Trustee Tom Bullock can be heard in the background heckling Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

You know, this is all so troubling for many reasons.

The biggest is this story is moving to an ever larger stage, it has left the backyard and now
the neighbors are fighting in the front yard, and some are trying for bonus points. We really
need to be careful.

Councilman Tom Bullock is very much a child of the Lakewood Observer. He came through
town working on the John Kerry campaign, and fell in love with the city and moved here.
Tom used to write for the Observer and post, but now he is very careful, and has to project
negativity and discourse.

Before Tom was a councilman he asked me to introduce him to Congressman Kucinich, and
I said sure, I called up the office and as Dennis' staff did every time they made time for
both the Observer and whoever we were with. Congressman Kucinich loves people and
talking with them.


So we went down and Tom talked with the Congressman and gave Tom all the time he needed.

He spent the afternoon answering questions and talking with Tom about politics, Lakewood,
local politics, and a whole host of things.



How things change, but yesterday seemed like a tough day for Tom, arguing in with State
Senator Michael Skindell, taunting and shouting at ex-Congressman Kucinich, a fun
conversation with Brian Essi, one with me, though I always enjoy talking Tom, and then
grabbing the cameras at the Kucinich conference and making fabulous statements of ?

What was the purpose?

Jim, I'll tell you something about Mr. Bullock. A year or so after the Drug Mart decision, my wife and I ran into him on Grace Ave. at the Drug Mart exit. We started talking about that process and how Mr. Siley had lied to us. I'll never forget his response, " Lying is a harsh word, Dru engaged in gamesmanship and that's just government ". He smiled at us as if that was perfectly acceptable. We walked home that night thinking what a sellout he was.

What was the purpose?

Tom Bullock's appearance and comments at Kucinich's press conference were planned and calculated DECEPTION and MISDIRECTION by Mike Summers who concealed his own appearance by his protégé puppet.

It was PLANNED AND CALCULATED
1. The Build Lakewood members arrived with signs mentioning the same words that Bullock later repeatedly spoke on queue.

2. After Kucinich spoke, Bullock read from a prepared statement that was unrelated to and did not address what Kucinich had said.

DECEPTION AND MISDIRECTION --Bullock's and Summers' Strong Suits

Bullock said: "People should be angry" with Skindell and Kucinich for "making promises"---this was Bullock's opening salvo before Kucinich spoke--and while Skindell was just there as an Observer neither made any "promises"

Reality: People are angry with Bullock and Summers for their acts of deception.

Bullock said: Council is considering everything that Kucinich said.

Reality: Council voted to negotiate with CCF, and is not considering the new evidence, not joining the lawsuit and not holding anyone accountable.

Bullock said:"If there is a legal angle, then we could pursue that, but there is none."

Reality: There is a lawsuit pending that is already holding parties accountable, but Summers and Bullock are fighting that "legal angle."

Bullock said: "If we could pursue another round of an RFPs, I would support that. I do not think there is time."

Reality: Council can pursue RFP's if it hired a broker or an investment banker, but Bullock does not support that, and Summers has stood in the way of marketing the hospital for over a year and 1/2-- there is still plenty of time that Summers and Bullock squander.

IRONY
It is truly ironic that Bullock was sent by Summers to a press conference that was about exposing DECEPTION and CONCEALMENT perpetrated by those trying to close the hospital---Bullock and Summers are leaders among those trying to close the Hospital by deception and concealment ---and Bullock engaged in deception right in front of the cameras, all the time CONCEALING Summers.
