Garbage Day nightmares...
Ok...so this is really starting to bug me. I live on the side of the street where cars park (and normally block my driveway). So when garbage day comes, this is always tricky. In the summer I can block my apron because I don't have to worry about school. During school however, I need my driveway. Well I put my cans in the street next to my apron as I was instructed to do. And you know what...people get out of their cars...move my cans and park in front of them. Then the garbage truck cannot get my stuff. OMG this morning I saw this happen to 3 different houses. WTH??? Are people that inconsiderate? I was *this close* to dumping my garbage on this person's car. (yes I have anger issues) Again....another great plan on paper...poorly executed. Ok...stepping off my box now and going to play with puppies....

We have had that happen once or twice as well, but when you add snow and plows into the mix it is way way worse. Unless we put them in the apron there is nowhere to put cans when there are mounds of snow everywhere. We talked to the neighbors across the street from us and now when we cannot put our cans in front of our house, due to cars or snow, we put them on their tree lawn. It's hauling them across the street and back so an extra pain but then at least my garbage gets taken.

Same here. I put cans out and just pray no car blocks them and they get picked up. It's another little "gift" from our leaders.
And people wonder why we don't sit back and "let our elected leaders do their jobs."
It's because we've seen all too often that they DON'T do what's best for US.

Missy,
I cannot believe people would actually block your driveway with their car! Man, what are they thinking? Have you ever called to have them towed? Most garages will tow anything if there is $ in it for them. A couple times doing that, they might get the idea and think twice about their disgusting behavior.
good luck.
