The Cleveland Clinics First Mayoral Campaign Mailing

Post by Bill Call »

I just received a glossy advertisement for Lakewood Hospitals Emergency Room in todays mail.

It has a nice photograph of the Hospital ER the Mayor wants torn down, in the Hospital the Clinic wants torn down featuring 24 hour care at an emergency room so degraded people avoid it like the plague.

It's the type of mailing designed to confuse and obfuscate.

The Clinic still intends to close Lakewood Hospital on the day Avon Hospital opens.

The proposed "Family Health Center" is just a second rate medical office building designed to get the people of Lakewood to pay to relocate the Clinic offices on Detroit and on Madison.

Get ready for more glossy disinformation. An honest mailing would have a picture of Fairview Hospital and directions to the new Avon Hospital. A really honest mailing would have the tag line.. SUCKER!!!!!

Interesting that the Clinic has to spend all this $ on a glossy mailer to let people know the LKWD ER is open despite the fact they said it was going to close over 8 months ago. Damage control?

Yeah, right, like the Clinic cares how much damage they inflict upon our hospital!

Bill--you are right again!

Here is everything written on it:

"Our Emergency Department is Open 24/7. Today. Tomorrow. Anytime You Need immediate Care." "Here for you at the corner of Detroit and Belle" "Emergency Care. We're Here In Your Community."

Simultaneously, they send their sock puppet mouthpiece Tom Gable to City Hall to say "the sky is falling--close up shop ASAP."

They tell the folks in the flier the ER is open "Tomorrow" but they don't say it will be open in the "FUTURE."

Perhaps most telling is the front of the flier---it says only "Cleveland Clinic" and has the pic of the big red "EMERGENCY" sign on the ER--no mention of Lakewood on the cover.

So the Clinic is using our money to promote itself---just like it has used LHF to solicit money to support something that they know they are going to close. In both cases the Clinic is spending other people's money to line their pockets.

Gable, Cosgrove and SUMMERS CANNOT BE TRUSTED IN WORD OR DEED !

Summers cannot deny that he has approved this mailer because as the key leader of LHA he has the ability to guide the LHA lawyer in the lawsuit. That LHA lawyer had been adamant in court the LHA is in control of the hospital, not CCF.
