The $500,000 Mayoral Race?
Mayor George spent over $250,000 on his failed re-election effort. Look for Mayor Summers and the Cleveland Clinic to spend more. There is too much money at stake for the Clinic to allow an independent mind at City Hall.

I fully agree.
I expect a barrage of nice glossy mailings throughout September and October, and probably some TV ads, too.
Get ready for an unprecedented deluge of lies, spin, and deception.

Re: The $500,000 Mayoral Race?
So you are saying we have a Mayor that may spend $500K to get elected for a job that pays $130K per year?
I ask the Build Lakewood crowd 2 questions:
1. How can you trust the judgment of such a Mayor to act in a financially prudent manner on City finances when his own are so far out of whack?
2. Don't these figures say that the Mayor places a high $$$dollar$$$ value on being "Mayor" i.e. the power to steer business and "trustee" foundation appointments, etc. to friends, associates and developers?
I guess we'll have to wait for campaign finance reports to see how much of his own money vs other people's money he is willing to spend for personal power, influence and ambition.
