Chicken smell?

Post by Peter Grossetti »

Just wondering how that whole backyard hens thing is working out. I know there are now some families in a pilot backyard hens program.

We drove through Lakewood last weekendend and didn't smell a thing ... and saw no infestation of rats and other varmints!! Wasn't that the biggest complaint by opponents?

Peter -

I recently had the chance to view a coop in Ward 4 and talk at length with the owners. I may the first person in world history to refer to a chicken coop as beautiful, but really, I was stunned by how great it looked. Master craftsmanship, and with so many safeguards against anything one might flag as an issue. Anyway the city will be revisiting the issue as the pilot program rolls on but hopefully the controversy will have been much ado about nothing. I'm keeping an open mind.
