Re: Jennifer Pae
Ms Pae, you did not address the second part of my post. If the land upon which the hospital sits is so desirable that developers are chomping at the bit to get it, which is what Build Lakewood and the mayor are claiming, then why are you so concerned that there will be nothing there but an empty hospital building? Won't those developers "develop" something there on that valuable patch of land?
And you certainly have the right to believe that politicians know better than their constituents and should be blindly followed.

Mike, may I suggest you not use quotes from one troubled Democrat to attack another corrupt Democrat (even though he might really be a Republican disguised as a Democrat). Maybe try using some quotes from Huey Long, Pol Pot, Stalin or some other figures who stands for democratic principles. LOL!

One fight at a time!
There are a lot of troubling aspects to this whole debacle. One is the fact that the Mayor and others in the Administration have known this was coming for AT LEAST 4 YEARS
and all they can come up with as replacement for 1,110 jobs and a full service hospital is a second rate medical office building and bus transportation to Avon.

Just reread to Amended and Restated Lease and on Page 2 of that document it talks about the Governing Board and how its membership is made up (23 members) and it also states that all of those on that Board will be ratified by the Member.
On Page 8 of that document it states: "Member means CCF or any Permitted Affiliate, etc. etc."
So it is very plain to see that the Clinic is the sole party to the agreement.
Hope this clarifies something.
And I am referring to Page 2 of the Lease Document under the section Parties to Agreement, and Page 8's Member language clearly refers to the Definitive Agreement in which the City of Lakewood is not a party to.

You always get the best offer on a prime parcel of land in the middle of the city, at the
spur of the moment during a BS rollout by a suspect Mayor.
One of the funniest part of this whole deal is the only things changing faster than medicine
is active living, wellness, and what cities do with greenspace.
Funny how the deal that was only about "healthcare" is now just about real estate and
economic development.
Wonder what it will be about next, hmmmmmmm maybe who goes to jail?

Re: Jennifer Pae
The Lease is one matter, but the Clinic's actions, thefacts and the laws are another:
From LHA Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees February 1, 2010, transcribed by CCF Attorney Michael Meehan: Dr. Tabbaa, LJA Chairman: “He said the Hospital’s main ‘partners’ were the Cleveland Clinic Health System and the City of Lakewood. This ‘partnership’ was part of a working covenant, and affiliation with the Health System was an integral part of the Hospital’s strategy….acting in a manner the preserved the Hospital’s mission…” Note: these statements were made in an effort to get LHA trustee to believe in the plan to remove Trauma and Pediatrics to Fairview Hospital and with promises from the “partner” i.e. CCF to support the Lakewood Hospital “mission”, i.e. to run a hospital for Lakewood residents.
The Mayor and Cosgrove refer to each other as "partners" in Lakewood Hospital.
So the Clinic is the sole member of LHA that is in possession of $120 million+++ of City property to operate it as a public charity for the benefit of Lakewood and it citizens.
I trust that Judge O'Donnell and the new administration will see the big picture.
If I were at City Hall, I would fight for the rights of Lakewood.
Ms. Pae, thanks again for your fine service to our City.
