The "Sparkle Effect"
Sounds like magic, right? Actually it's a new part of the Lakewood HS cheerleaders. Mike Dineen has more info. Here's a group shot:

Oh darn!
I was going to post this thread under the title:
"BREAKING NEWS: Cleveland Browns Do Something Right!"
The Browns helped to connect LHS with the national Sparkle Effect organization.
They are also a major sponsor of the project.
The cheer team (which now has boys, by the way), is excited.
I'll have an article in the next print edition.

This is great but the Ranger cheer team has had boys before. Up through my daughter's junior year (2011), the cheer team had a male member and he was great. I think it is based on interest and if a guy is interested and qualified, he's a member of the team.
