Cold Calls to Residents - Is Team Summers Responsible?

Post by Lori Allen _ »

Has anybody else gotten a call from someone wanting you to take a survey about the hospital and city services in general?

The survey was from a female, and asks questions about your satisfaction with city services, economic development, and whether or not you will be voting for Mike Summers in the upcoming election.

One question the survey asked that got my goat was if I was for or against the closure of Lakewood Hospital, even though the new family health center will have an ER.

In my opinion, this statement is deceptive at best. As I have said before, I am pretty sure this new ER/urgent care will not be able to treat you for anything more serious than a broken bone, cut, and other minor aliments.

I strongly suspect that these cold calls to residents are coming from a member of Team Summers. While I am not trying to accuse anyone, I am wondering if this is a volunteer on Team Summers or if they are being paid and with whose money. Is the cold calling being done with city workers (similar to the water bill controversy)?

To me, this phone survey is another example of how out of touch these people are. How many of you have a landline? I haven't had one in over 10 years. No person under 30 has one, and an awful lot of people under 40 do not.

Robodialing consecutive numbers won't work because cell exchanges are all over the place and do not correlate to your location. Exactly who do they think they will reach and how accurate would any survey be?
