"Save Lakewood Hospital"? or "Build Lakewood"?

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Well, how about neither?

How about we go back and look at this entire deal, and see why we were lied to?

Why council members lied and misled other council members.

Why we sell off a $100+ million dollar asset and the only one to get anything are friends of the mayor?

How did our $100 million dollar asset get run into the ground?

Why did the very people we elected and trusted, scheme behind out backs?

Why, if this was such a great opportunity, is it still shrouded with lies...?

Before we decide what to do with the body-- let's first see if it is living, then if not...

We find the murderers and hold them accountable.

THEN

What ever follows is honest, above board, and can be supported by more than the
Mayor's friends and associates. If it is a hospital, so be it, if it is a Health Center and
Wellness Center, so be it, if it is Soccer Fields so be it, If it is development, so be it.

But let's make sure we build it on a rock solid base of honesty, transparency and accountability.

Is that insane? Unreasonable? Bullshit?

Or just common sense?

Jim,

You've hit on the trifecta. Honesty, transparency and accountability----these common sense--but they are also the law.

Laws have been broken. Accountability and justice are the remedies.

There will be consequences.

Brian

The sad thing is, they could just not do it honestly. I get why some people are off on their facts, they don't
have them. But City Hall not just has them, they are not willing to share them, they resist record requests,
and hide behind "executive session." They are trying to shorten the time they purge records to cover up even
faster than before.

I am sitting her laughing because of the first time we met, and you wanted to prove me wrong.

3 months later, thousands of hours of talking with people and looking at documents,
with no help from me or my sources.

How is that working out for you?

I think the only thing we really differ on is...
1) You think the Clinic is evil.
I think they are just the Clinic.

2) You think Metro is our savior
I am happy with Clinic and or Metro. See #1

It is just amazing how FUBAR things can get, huh?

Jim,

Life is good. The truth shines.

No worries. "Sometimes things just have a way of working themselves out" W. Wilson Caldwell

So as I sit in the eye of this storm, it is all working for me--the real motivations of the actors are now in focus.

I've got a lot a grass stains on my shirt, and I might not be so pretty, but I'm getting there.

I never said the Clinic was evil--I don't know where you heard that.

The Clinic is acting as any business would, in it's own best interest regardless of whose feet they step on.
They obviously want to be king of the hill on Cleveland's west side. Summers, council and LHA are the enablers of this behavior even when they have been entrusted to keep the hospital healthy.

It's all about $$$, not people or healthcare.
Unbelievable and sad what passes for leadership around here.

Then again, this is business as usual from a (ex)republican, so I should not be so surprised.

Cameron

Please note: The Clinic is not suing to get out of their contract.

Mayor Summers demanded they answer the second RFP, which put us on this course.

As he himself has admitted, it is not a done deal, all he has to do is drop it, and the
city goes back to normal for at least 5 years, many say 10.

Time to rethink this debacle, try for it publicly, actually tell voters how much they
are going to spend and lose.

Democracy is a great thing.

So is honesty and transparency.
