public corruption

Post by Stan Austin »

I just received my water bill with the additional one page screed from the mayor (lower case is intentional). The cost of this should be reflected in a campaign finance report. Perhaps the city hall employee in charge of generating this bill should be investigated for public corruption.

I agree- its campaigning. Stan, you seem pretty knowledgeable about election law, is there someone we can complain to?

I also found the letter was written in an "emotional" style - trying a bit too hard to be folksy to appeal to the reader. Pretty funny.

They downright LIED yet again about Metro, saying it withdrew its offer and had no new one to offer. Of course, if they gave the complete story it wouldn't look too good for them.

Bridgett- At the moment I'm just putting out hypotheticals. But at this moment, if there is a back channel comunication among city hall employees I'd advise get" lawyered up" before you take instructions from your bosses

I did some quick searching on the internet machine and it looks like there are a couple of potential places to report violations.

The Ohio Ethics Commission has a page with helpful information on where to direct inquiries. They also have this handy slogan - 'When in doubt, contact the Ohio Ethics Commission at (614) 466-7090'.

I think the Ohio Elections Commission would be another resources since they deal with Elections and campaign finance.

Ohio Elections Commission (614) 466-3205 www.elc.ohio.gov

Finally, the State Auditor might be a catch all of issues of using public money on campaign material.

I'm going to file a complaint with the Ethics and Election commissions and then go from there.

Has anyone contacted the Lakewood Water dept? I'm curious if they have been receiving feedback or if they have a script to answer questions yet.

I give credit to you for looking at any additional things that come with the water bill. Normally I just look at the bill, pass out and by the time I wake up I forget about anything else in the envelope.

He is using City Hall staff for campaign work all day according to some at City Hall. Colin
taking photos that appear in campaign stuff, Dru on salary spreading the word, and the latest
person on the take, Lakewood favorite stalker, imposter and website creep, working on
various things while on the City's dime.

City Hall is morally bankrupt, and runs with thugs and villains.

When ypou assemble a team like this, you must have a lot to hide.

Oh wait, WE have spent over $250,000 on City Hall's cover-ups in just 6 months!

Time to pull the plug, and shut them all down.

Not everyone is a thug or villain. I am Chair of the animal safety welfare board (and my name is on the city website) and I am pretty nice. All I want to do is make BSL a thing of the past and save animals. After that, I am so far removed from anything ....

Thanks for making my point, you are there to fix, stupid illegal laws brought in by this group.

I have a lot of friends at City Hall that are good people and good Lakewoodites, but they
talk about what is going on, but we need for them to go public.

I think, when this regime is through, we are going to see some ugly things.

Jim,

When it comes to "City Hall & Friends," I always remember ...

"Follow the money."

"The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand."

"Just... follow the money."

Bob Woodward: The story is dry. All we've got are pieces. We can't seem to figure out what the puzzle is supposed to look like. John Mitchell resigns as the head of CREEP, and says that he wants to spend more time with his family. I mean, it sounds like bullshit, we don't exactly believe that...

Deep Throat: No, heh, but it's touching. Forget the myths the media's created about the White House. The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Bob Woodward: Hunt's come in from the cold. Supposedly he's got a lawyer with $25,000 in a brown paper bag.

Deep Throat: Follow the money.

Bob Woodward: What do you mean? Where?

Deep Throat: Oh, I can't tell you that.

Bob Woodward: But you could tell me that.

Deep Throat: No, I have to do this my way. You tell me what you know, and I'll confirm. I'll keep you in the right direction if I can, but that's all. Just... follow the money.
