Mayor Summers Please Resign Now!

Post by Bill Call »

Up until January of 2015 I was a big supporter of Mayor Summers. I began to have doubts during the early Spring but the more I found out about his conspiracy to destroy the Hospital the more disappointed I became.

It is clear to me now that for some reason he wants to:

Destroy Lakewood Hospital and all of it's economic benefit
Limit health care access for the people of Lakewood
Replace a revenue generating hospital with a tax eating recreation center
give away nearly $100 million in City assets

to that end he has

poisoned his relationship with Council
poisoned his relationship with the people of Lakewood
lied about the LOI
lied about the recreation center
lied about the time line
and
lied about a Metro proposal that would have preserved
Lakewood jobs and millions of dollars of economic activity in Lakewood.

Oliver Cromwell said it best:

You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

Perhaps Mayor Summers should contact The Mayor's Office at Akron City Hall for some pointers on how to bow out (semi-)gracefully?

Possibly the biggest mistake I have made this year is contactong this group and talking them out of their recall.

My thoughts were the election is around the corner, but it has become obvious that the Mayor
and Council President are doubling down promising friends that this is going to happen no
matter what people want...

I hate to say it, but it is time we step in and stop them from ruining Lakewood as they get
run from office. The burning of Lakewood!

It amazes me that the one person that could have been mayor for 5 terms has thrown it
away in so many forms of corruption and dishonesty.

Mike, please think about stepping down, save what is left of your reputation.

I agree, Jim.

And did Mike Summers ever thank you or me?

No.

“Recall Mike Summers” should have been encouraged, not discouraged.

So even Jim O'Bryan can be wrong. He is big enough to admit it.

I begged Summers to admit this mistake back in April of this year.

Strong leaders take responsibility.

When it is obvious to many that a leader has made a mistake and won’t admit error and won’t take responsibility, the followers lose trust and confidence in the leader.

Unfortunately, HIS followers will not lose confidence and will continue to back him because they all want the same thing, the rest of Lakewood be damned. They are so focused on their own petty wants that nothing else matters. They'll step on anyone who gets in their way.

They are monied, connected, and arrogant. It is going to be a battle. What a shame they'll put Lakewood through this again.

My fellow Northwestern alum should definitely step down.
He has ZERO credibility, and things are only going to get worse for him.
There is still a ton of information that has not yet come out.
It would be best for everyone.

What is the Mayoral line of succession?

Vice Mayor? Ain't got one!

City Council President? Be careful what you ask for!

Sadly, that's not going to happen even with the damning evidence that will continue to be released.

And, ironically, it is in no small part to the fact that LHA money is getting promised to everyone in the City.

It appears that "money can by you love" and maybe even an election.
