Some time ago, I posted about the work I had done restoring old books and selling them on Amazon. In the time since then, I have continued my work, but the focus of my work has shifted from non-fiction to historical fiction and now I find myself waist-deep in restoring pulp fiction magazines of the 1930s.
I was quite surprised as I was finishing up work on an issue of Wonder Stories, a 'scientifiction' pulp magazine...an issue from January 1931, when I saw this science question about radioactivity. (see attached image).
While I doubt that this Mr. Wiggin is still alive, I can't help but wonder who he was, why he was interested in the subject matter and if he still has relatives in the area.

Re: A tiny look at the past
Neat little article Roy, thanks for sharing that. It's always very interesting to compare what was known then to what is known now, in writings such as these. Obviously, atomic energy had been well studied by the 30s. It's hard to imagine they knew just what they were getting into, but soon the "power" would indeed be realized on a "tremendous scale"!

Thanks Roy!
I love historical stuff, especially about Lakewood.
I enjoy learning about the people that were here before us.
This piece demonstrates that Lakewood has always been a smart town!
