Lakewood Girls Rugby Team Wins State Championship!
The team has gone undefeated in their league. They won the Ohio State Championship yesterday. Next is the Midwestern Tournament and Nationals.
I wish I had more details. I'll try and get more to post later.

Stan
Nice to see the koolaid works!
Dr, Greenoff
Steve pointed out an interesting point in my lcoker room pep-talk with him about coming up short on the Rugby Story. "Hey I thought Chuck was doing school sports."
Of course this came from the guy that went to the council meeting and called to say, "Well I think Stan has it covered."

I'm lucky enough to know the team Manager & Faculty Advisor, Alison Breckel (daughter of Salli Pardee & Donald Breckel) who has worked so hard to make this a school sanctioned club, has arranged fundraisers and scheduled matches.
As Lynn Farris pointed out, these girls play college teams and women's clubs (because there are few high school clubs to compete against) so there's every reason to believe they will do very well in the Midwest championship matches.
I'm also wondering why we're still not hearing more from Steve Davis who has a very personal connection to this group (his daughter is a team member).

I know when my daughter was there, they were hoping to elevate it from a club to a team sport. Is it a team sport now? Or will this cement it for them?
They should be very proud of themselves. This is great. Is this the first team from Lakewood to win Nationals?
This should go on that plaque that Mayor Cain put up on Warren!!!!
I'm very excited!!!!
