New Lakewood Rangers Logo
Here's some news that is stirring up many LHS alums.
At the request of the School Board, LHS is updating its "Rangerman" logo this summer.
The new design, which is being handled by the Vlosich Brothers, is still in development.
At this point it's unclear if the costumed sideline mascot is getting a makeover, too.
When the process is complete, the School will make an official announcement.
I trust they won't have an overblown half hour TV special like the Browns, though!
We'll keep you updated on the story.

IF GV is designing the logo, I definitely have high hopes for it. Nostalgia is one thing but Lakewood High School could have one of the coolest logos in the country if it is anything like their t-shirt designs. They do a lot of work with our Cleveland sports teams and live/work in Lakewood. Can't imagine they would do anything but a great redesign.
For those who may not be familiar, here is a link to their website (they have a store on Detroit, across from St. James):

Yes, Matt.
Those guys do very nice work, and they are passionate Rangers.
The new logo should be very good....modern, yet with respect for tradition.
I am just speculating, but I suspect school reconstruction played a role in this decision.
The new logo can now be incorporated into the new gym when it is built...and it will give an updated look for the "new" high school.

Just to go a little outside the box, things don't necessarily have to be all about Rangerman.

Or do they?

Or do they?
If you would understand anything, observe its beginning and its development.

Good thinking, Scott!
As long as Ranger Woman doesn't wear the dreaded "Laverne L", of course!

I remember a basketball game when Rangerman arrived with a purse over the shoulder and nail polish, while being escorted by the cheerleaders. The fans did not seem to notice, or care. On the court, I noticed but did not care, but did giggle a little.
If I remember correctly, our original mascot was banned from wearing the uniform/costume when there was an altercation with the St. Ed's Eagle at a football game. After that we had rotating people in the uniform/costume. Apparently, not always boys.

For the record, a number of years ago, the BOE passed a resolution that the mascot is the Ranger, not Rangerman.
