The Lakewood Hospital LOI was unveiled on January 15, and is now four and half months ago.
Its architects intended for the LOI to be approved by City Council by the end of May.
They have FAILED to reach that goal.
We owe this fact to the efforts of "Save Lakewood Hospital", whose members have worked tirelessly to fight this terrible deal.
I am extremely proud to be a small part of this grass roots group.
Its members, which include a stellar array of legal, medical, finance, political, and media talent, have spent thousands of hours on this issue.
They have done extensive research, collected petitions, sent countless letters to City Council, attended Council and community meetings, sent numerous letters to media, and placed hundreds of yard signs (with lots more to come).
Although we have made progress, there is still a very, very, long way to go...the Clinic and the Mayor will continue to put on a full court press to destroy the hospital.
I encourage everyone to visit www.savelakewoodhospital.org and become part of the solution.
There are many different ways that you can help....by volunteering, by placing a yard sign, or by making a monetary donation.

Re: "Save Lakewood Hospital" Already Making a Difference
Now that the vote on the LOI has been postponed (to when?) there is no telling how long this will go on-possibly until city council is stacked against us and for the Clinic?
No time to let up! It's a good thing these yard signs are plastic, they will have to last all summer and into the fall if not longer.
Long live Lakewood Hospital and all who support it! We owe you a huge debt of gratitude!
Shame on you, Mayor Mike Summers!
