Don't need or want to be uber famous.

But I hope this underlines, the bullshit talk about conspiracies and half truths being posted.

Some damn good people went to the mat to get this out, just like all the other stuff I post.

As we knew a decade ago, wait for the spin, or get the real dirt off the street.

FWIW

Now that the news is official I wonder when Sherwin Williams will lose their advertising space?

Party arrangements have already begun?

Great job Jim in breaking this story!

Jim,

Great job taking the lead on this story.

Ryan Salo rocked it at Quicken Loans Arena and Bill Call was spot-on at the Lakewood Hospital all day.

The entire "LO News Team" was amazing!

The local and national media, including WEWS-TV Journalist Bob Jones, are no doubt grateful for The Lakewood Observer breaking this story.

Lakewood Resident Sean Koran even came down to Bath Township to represent the 'Wood.

Matt, Ryan

I would love to take credit for this. But let's be honest, it is always the person that drops the dime
that deserves the credit. I also doubt that it would have been released as early as it was without
the help of both of you, in Bath at LeBron's House, and at the Q.

I was talking with Marty Savage this morning, we haven't talked for years. He asked out of the blue
how good my source was. I told him, break it now you are a national story, wait, it will be just
another story. As he was setting up, Sports Illustrated dumped the story.

According to SI sources, they wanted to get in front of the story we dropped, and they paid for.

Winners and Losers from the Decision II (ignoring the obvious like "Dan Gilbert" or "Heat ticket scalpers"):

WINNERS:
*Sports Illustrated: Once upon a time, this bikini website had a print sports magazine. It published every week, and featured many great writers. Over the years the product has been ravaged by ESPN and online competition. By breaking this story, they reminded the world that they still exist for something other than swimsuit photos.

*The NBA: The Cavs are now "America's Team", and they will be featured at every opportunity. The Homecoming Angle humanizes the league and eliminates the fear that "All Star Teams" will take over the league. It also takes attention away from the Donald Sterling situation, which could drag on for years.

LOSERS:
*The Indians: Already #29 in MLB attendance, they have now been cemented into a distant #3 position on the local sports totem pole. Luckily for the city, the Indians have no leverage to move...MLB overexpanded to 30 teams, leaving no viable destination cities to move.

*The GOP convention: For campaign finance reasons, they want to have an early summer convention at the Q in 2016. However, chances are now very strong that the building will be occupied through mid-June.

*Akron Hoban High School: The chief rival of Lebron's alma mater, they have been suffering mightily since he emerged as a global star. LeBron has always been a walking billboard for St. V, and this homecoming only drives home the point.
Note: If Brian Hoyer emerges as a successful Browns QB, St. Ed's will be in the same position as Hoban....they will have to settle for "leftovers" from Iggy.

With all the talk of conspiracies, how we get stories and sources, let's go back to another story we broke 48 hours earlier than anyone else.

And watch this video of the outcome by Lakewoodite Brian Foox, the best video of the championship I have seen.

ENJOY THIS VIDEO
