A matter of trust.
This is more of a plea than a post. I'm asking that someone step up and challenge Councilperson Madigan in the coming election. Someone who will run on a platform of truth and transparency and thus stand in stark contrast to Ms. Madigan and the way she and her clique conduct business. Having been involved in the Drug Mart process I can attest that Ms. Madigan at best facilitated Mr. Siley's lies regarding Drug Mart. At worst she was complicit in those lies. She knew that Mr. Siley had misled her constituents and yet she remained silent. She lacked the integrity to speak up and inform the Planning Commission that the person they rely on to navigate them through the process had in fact misled her and her constituents. She has continued this pattern with regard to the Hospital. She serves on the board, but when asked (before the plans to close the Hospital were made public, but after the board had discussed it for months) what she knew about the plans to close, she replied "Yeah, I've heard that rumor too." This is a refrain we have heard too many times. It's a poor excuse for leadership. We deserve better. We deserve a representative who will actually represent us, and be honest in the process.
