Mike,

Will the "Save Lakewood Hospital" group run a candidate in Ward 4 against MLM? Have you heard anything?

The group works to save the hospital, it does not choose or recruit political candidates.

Mr. Deneen, Unquestionably the first priority should be to save Lakewood Hospital, it is clearly in all our best interest. Mr. Summers. Mr. Siley and Ms. Madigan's vision of soccer fields and giant Drug Mart's as the future of health care in America speaks for itself. Having said that, if your group is not willing to address the appalling lack of transparency that led to this mess, if you're not willing to oppose those that have misled, manipulated, and drifted unaccountable in a land of rumors, then you're missing THE moment to change the culture of politics in Lakewood. Please don't shy away from the challenge.

Mike,

That is a huge mistake!

This group and all residents need to ensure that they recruit a slate of mayoral and council candidates who are willing to save the Lakewood Hospital, as well as fight for true transparency and accountability.

"City Hall & Friends" are already running a slate of mayoral and council candidates who want to destroy the Lakewood Hospital for a WRECK Center and soccer fields.

But, rather than be truly transparent and accountable to the residents about their dastardly deeds and desires, "City Hall & Friends" want the residents - and voters - to believe that this upcoming election is about chickens.

Christopher,

With all due respect, the way to save the hospital is to remove the officials involved. It's really simple, find candidates that support your view and get them to run.

If you are for:

-1.5 million loss in annual income to the city
- 1,100 jobs lost and a massive ripple effect on area businesses

I encourage you to keep MLM in power. The sad part is the city never commissioned a true economic impact study. Had they, the public would be further outraged.

Soccer fields and a rec center won't replace the 1,100 lost jobs and the devastation it will bring to area businesses that rely on the hospital.

I think your reference to MLM is different then mine---Network marketing or multilevel level marketing is what i thought you were referring to? its a way that one can make money through a unique business model....its what entrepreneurship is based on...

I think that she was referring to Mary Louise Madigan, councilperson for Ward 4

Mike Summers was born in Lakewood Hospital and he understands "the emotional attachment" that motivates those who oppose The Lakewood Hospital deal. Well Mike, I was born in New York City and I have absolutely no emotional attachment to Lakewood Hospital. What I do have is an aversion to politicians who work in the shadows, who's first inclination when challenged is to mislead and manipulate as you and Ms. Madigan are so adept at. I would add that I've listened to Senator Skindell and Mr. Dever and they don't appear to be driven by emotion. Mr. Summers you do not possess a monopoly on clear thinking or thoughtful analysis when it comes to Lakewood Hospital.
