Council should vote down the proposed changes to the Hospital lease and insist that the Clinic pay damages for its willful destruction of Lakewood Hospital.
At least we can get people on the witness stand. The discovery process should be very interesting.

East Cleveland sued and got $20 million. I think we have a better deal now.

The only thing the people of Lakewood will receive is a temporary Clinic designed to fail.
How many times will a patient go to the Lakewood facility, pay the facility fee, pay for parking, pay the deductible, pay the co-pay and then be told to schedule a follow up visit in Avon where
they will
pay the facility fee, NOT pay for parking, pay the deductible and pay the co-pay.
how many months will it take for people to figure out that they will save time and money by just driving to Avon in the first place?
There are three Cleveland Clinic Family Health Centers in Avon, population 22,000. In 5 years Lakewood won't even have one.
If City Council accepts this deal it accepts Lakewood as a health care desert.

Re: Just Say No To The Clinics Bad Deal
Can we trust the Cleveland Clinic Foundation?
Can we trust the Lakewood Hospital Association?
Can we trust the Lakewood Hospital Foundation?
Their agreement states that:
" ..vision of healthcare for the Lakewood community is based on the knowledge that health care is changing from a facility and physician based paradigm.... to population based effort that aims to improve the health of an entire community.....and reducing the need for "sick care" hospitals. This is the future of health care".
If that is true why are they building a new hospital in Avon?
If that is true why does Avon, population 22,000, need a hospital and 3 family health centers?
From I., B.
" The services provided by Lakewood Hospital will be transformed to....wellness activities and outreach services ..."
What is a wellness activity?
What is an outreach activity?
What do they mean when they state that "The Clinic will ..... to help... attract and contract with a wellness center (further definition to be determined)."
So at this point they don't even know what a wellness center actually is?
