Councilman-At-Large Ryan Nowlin Talks!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Ward 4 resident Mary Grigolia was one of a few to stop by Ryan Nowlin in his
new program to reach out to residents.

This morning I walked into Blackbird Bakery at the crack of dawn, and hunkered down
at a back table was Councilman-At-Large Ryan Nowlin.

Councilman Nowlin is the silent person on council and I have often thought that may
lead many to believe he has nothing to say. In fact I have always found Councilman
Nowlin to be bright, engaging, and fun to talk to, But you have to make the effort.

But why listen to me? Councilman Nowlin will be out and around, every Friday morning
between 7amish and 9:30am not to talk to you, but to get your feedback, questions and
ideas on the city we all love. But get him to talk too!

Next Friday he will be back at Blackbird Bakery on Sloane and Detroit, but after that vows
to travel around Lakewood whereever he can find residents wanting to talk. I would
imagine that coffee and WiFi is needed too, as he was working his butt off between his
interactions with residents and patrons.

The only people who will be available to talk to Councilperson Nowlin on Fridays between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. are retirees and people who don't work for a living.

How about setting up a time when you can talk to more than just a specific demographic? Is he afraid of confronting the rest of us?
