Police Chief Rats on Fitz?

Post by Grace O'Malley »

Both the PeeDee and the Scene are reporting an incident involving Fitzgerald and an "occupant" caught late at night in a parked vehicle. Police Chief Malley appears to confirm the incident yet admits no record can be found of the report (is that like the missing car/driver logs from the county?)

I'm a bit surprised the chief even commented on this and wonder what it means. In terms of damaging Fitz, the damage has already been done. I just find it curious and wonder if more is going to come out.

Kasich is running up the score to boost his 2016 potential.

It's just like a college football team scoring extra touchdowns late in a lopsided game to impress the pollsters.

Relatively few people outside Ohio recognize the dismal obscenity that is Fitz's candidacy.
All the national media will see is a "moderate" governor winning by over 20 points in a key Presidential battleground state.

If Walker is ousted in Wisconsin, Kasich immediately becomes a big 2016 player.

But why did Malley comment on it, basically confirming it? If no report could be found, he could just say he didn't know anything about it and let it drop knowing the reporters wouldn't find it, either.

I just feel there is more to this.

And the latest in the never-ending saga is this.

No-one can figure out why Chief Malley went on record, with incomplete police records
and the fact that yet again, the mayor doesn't need to show a driver's license.

It is funny, to "hear the story" before it broke, and know the players pushing the story,
which while Republican in nature has very little to do with politics. IT has been another
real lesson into how "real media" works, or doesn't.

What will be interesting is, will it continue after the election, as this is more personal.

I doubt Chief Malley called a press conference to release this. I think its more likely that some reporter went to him and asked about it. Apparently he gave an honest answer. Isn't that what we want from our officials?

The most recent poll by the Columbus Dispatch has it a 28 point lead, 62-34.
