Transferring most of Lakewood’s doctors to Avon

Transferring whole departments from Lakewood to Avon

Transferring equipment and personnel from Lakewood to Avon

Failing to update and properly maintain equipment at Lakewood Hospital

AND

Degrading Lakewood’s emergency room

LAKEWOOD HOSPITAL STILL HAS MORE BUSINESS THAN AVON! The Clinic can stab the hospital, shoot it, poison it and beat it with a cane but just like Rasputin it still lives.

BUT-

Don’t get your hopes up. There is no hope. The Clinic intends to kill Lakewood Hospital and it will not stop until they kill it dead.

THE SCOOP –

The Clinic is experiencing some financial difficulty. It has over expanded and increased its cost at the same time the government and insurance companies are apply increasing pressure to reduce cost. The Clinic’s economic model is untenable under a great deal of pressure.

The Clinic will be seeking a taxpayer bailout from the residents of Cuyahoga County within the next two years. The plan is to merge Metro Health and the Clinic. The merged entity will be eligible for hundreds of millions in taxpayer subsidies.

THE JOKE

The joke is on the residents of Cuyahoga County who will be asked to fund the Clinics plans to expand in Lorain, Medina Counties and beyond.

Something like TRI-C’s 90% tax increase to fund its expansion out of Cuyahoga County.
