Is Lakewood a Suburb?

Post by Bill Call »

One of the assumptions of urban planners is that the millennials will want to raise their families in dense urban areas. That's not true:

What does the mean for Lakewood? What does that say about the efficacy of billions in subsidies for downtown development?

sprawl is highly subsidized. credit for purchasing homes is highly subsidized.
the bulk of U.S. political and free market policy is to maximize energy dependence.
the post-industrial economy relies on increasing sprawl much more so than the old industrial economy.
john kenneth galbraith summarized the question best: how to manage surplus productivity.
It is necessary to continue slumming up more areas to create new demand.
