Blue Angels 2014

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I had a short break in production of the paper this weekend, just enough time to run downtwon
and try to get a new angle on the Blue Angels.

We tried from the unopened innerbelt bridge, over East 9th.

Over 60 tries to get this image.

Then Monday went to my old favorite place and got these...

These guys don't "go back to work", this is their work. My niece is married to a former Angel, and he is the cockiest, most full of himself person that I ever met. These flyboys are performers and not heroes.

Also, they work for us so why do we have to pay to go to the Air Show? These shows are nothing but rackets that are used to recruit young people to join the military.

Eagles, Angels, thingies with wings, superb photography.

... wonder if you ever captured geoff brabham in the nissan #86 ?

maybe that was too long ago, or was it ? they go slower now ...

thanks

Russ

I literally have thousands and thousands of motor racing photos. From Formula One, to Nelson Ledges, from Brands Hatch in England,
to Indy, to Montreal to...

And yes many of the Nissans, all on film and some good ones of Geoff Brabham.

I was looking for a reason to drag them out. Maybe I'll digitize some.

The Blue Angels are one of my favorite thing in life, the raw power is just amazing.
GREAT shots Jim thanks for sharing.
Back in 2012 I recorded the cockpit to cockpit communications of the Blue Angels.
