Tonight is a meteor shower that can be viewed from Lakewood, caused by comet that passed
through this part of our solar system over 100 years ago. While no one is sure how good it
will be, many astronomers are thinking it might be the biggest and best of the year.
It's a great night for a meteor shower, it's clear, so you have to look north about 30 degrees above the horizon. They are thinking the peak hours are 2am - 4am, but there could be
meteors before 2am. During the peak they are thinking more than 200 meteors an hour.

They should schedule these during Prime Time!

It would have been better.
2:30 - 4:14 meteor count = 0
While you could see Cleveland clearly, their seemed to be a drop off in visibility near the
horizon of the lake.
It was great fun waking Deb up at 2am dragging equipment down to our virgin unspoiled
viewing area, where we set up a kind of "Quest for Fire" camp. and sat back and waited,
and waited, and waited, and waited.
Finally at 4:30am, we broke camp, and made sure to remove any sign of our campground.
I would also like to thank the fine people at Pier W for leaving their comfortable deck chairs
on the porch.
Carry on, nothing to see...
