Don't we prefer our mediocre "tex-mex" coming out of mediocre faux haciendas instead of Mall Boxes?

Maybe it is personal taste, like the person that thought it "was the best in the world."

I don't understand the hate for Taco Bell. I don't eat there (I prefer Taco Tontos and Deegans) but apparently there are enough of my neighbors who do, that Taco Bell spent a bunch of money to rebuild it. So what if you don't like it-don't go there.

Bill

Where is the hatred for taco bell? They did all they were asked, I even eat there
occasionally, for that moment south of the border.

It is more a frustration with a building/planning department that dreams of a city that
looks like Warren Road and Madison. That is giddy, tweeting non-stop over successes like
"street car buildings" except when they are not bring to the neighborhood. McDonalds sign
on the sign street lighting up homes, Taco Bell being allowed to skirt the law and save
$125,000 in design by, leaving three ways up. The repetitive boring structures, that is
slowly turning Detroit and Madison into like trips to the mall.

I would think if you were saving a company $150,000, and actually allowing them to skirt
the law, you might be able to ask for something a little nicer. Other cities have with Taco
Bell, McDonalds, Burger King, CVS, etc.

At some point, we have to stop being a total slut, and ask that they pay our price, or pass us by.

In the past 6 administrations, this city HAS NEVER BEEN ON THE POINT OF
DESPERATION. Our housing and business vacancy rate was never lower then the average
in this area. NEVER. So why are we so desperate? Why are we laying down and giving up
so much?

Taco Bell is not ht issue here. They never stop to tweet on the clock, "Best Taco Bell In
The World." Their website already lists Pacifica, California as the Best.

It is always nice seeing big box chains (favored by City Hall) blending in with unique
historical design blending in and being part of the community.
