We can read how our "Planning Department" worked very closely with Taco Bell to not only
keep them in a place that City Council had declared illegal and wrong, but also save them
more than $100,000 that they obviously put back in in the project(not) so that in the end
at the very Gateway to DowntowN we would have "The Best Taco Bell In The World,"
according to the planning director that was so giddy at his personal coup of thwarting
Council, the residents and saving the future of Lakewood and the World with the BEST.
So yesterday while driving around Lakewood and looking at all of the great "plans" that
have been delivered we ran into one of the Planning Directors FAVORITE styles of stores
and something he has worked very hard on planning, "Dollar Stores."
At the corner of Cove and Detroit, is one of those "mom and pop" dollar stores and the
only one we knew of that sold food, human hair, and sex toys, which certainly makes them
one of the most unique dollar stores, and possibly the best, though we will have to wait
and see what they all tweet when done at the Ribbon Cutting. It go hit by a car, and in the
past year plus they have made great strides at rebuilding it back to its former glory and
possibly on the way to being "The Best Dollar Store In The World!" Well I am sure that
is how it will sounded when tweeted and filmed by possibly the "Best" Propaganda machine
since the days of National Socialist German Workers' Party's spin machine.

In ten times longer the amount of time Judge Carroll would give you to paint your house
in the middle of winter, "Dollar Discount AND Beauty" has gone from a rag tag operation
into the dream Planning Department must have had for them all along. To take this gem
of a Dollar Store, as they also specialize in Beauty to possibly in their eyes, "The Best
Dollar Store In The World."
But we must ask, "At what cost?"
Has the Planning Department installed a one brick rule? Where if you designate a single
brick to not be moved, you can take years to repair damage, and save hundreds of
thousands of dollars in your rebuild from damage to greatness?
The only reason I ask is that this brick has not been moved since day one, and it seems
both strange, and dangerous. But what do I know about Planning and getting around
the rules set down by City Council?

Could this be the $100,000 brick that help Planning lead Dollar Discount And Beauty to
the same greatness and best that they did with Taco Bell?

Lakewood Planning, baby steps to errr, ahhhh, errrr, ahhhh something.
