grabbed the camera and walked down to see what was going on. The workers could not
really speak with me while working so I just kind of shouted questions and they would
kind of answer or ignore politely. I was question the sanity of patching streets before
winter was over, and how in the hell does cold patching in the middle of the night solve
anything outside of their bottom line.

Over the course of a half hour, and maybe 30 pot holes, I learned that something is generally
better than nothing, and that the edges had become sharp, and this will cut down on some
cut tires and car damage, and make the streets safer for the short term. That many of the
patches will not make it to spring, but some will, and that is a good thing.
Over the course of the 30 minutes At least half of the cars went through the work area
faster than the speed limit, or at speed never slowing down to a truck with two workers
in the dark, with reflective clothing working. Just crazy.

Another group of idiots would lay on their horns, or yell suddenly out the window trying
to get a reaction from them.

And then were the darlings that would shoot the finger or yell expletives out the window
as they sped by.
Really? I suppose most of the real idiots were headed away from the bars south on
Riverside Drive. But many people heading north to the bars never slowed down, and
some beeped and sped up.
Yes these workers are getting paid. But they are not getting paid to risk their lives, and
they are certainly not getting paid to be a target for insults and worse.
Slow down, give them some room and some respect.
