Fire On Northland Last Night 2nd Fire In 2 Days

Last night the Lakewood Fire Department was called to a fire at 2022/2024 Northland Ave.

Upon entering the residence they found an elderly woman on the third floor who was
transported to Lakewood Hospital.

Two of Lakewood Firefighters were also injured at the scene and were transported to
Lakewood Hospital where they were treated and released.





This was the second fire in two days, the first was at 1188 Andrews, no one injured, and
that was traced back to an electrical fire.

It is one thing to work in these extreme temps. It is another thing to work in these temps,
wet and with water.

Elderly woman was home alone, her husband was on the road. She was treated at Lakewood
and moved to Akron General for specialized equipment that only St. Vincent has in the area
and was in use. The device forces oxygen into the entire body to stop damage and reverse
