I'm not sure which Bylaws and Policies are being revised and adopted but this might be an interesting meeting to attend to hear about them, on a first reading. Mark your calendar for next Monday night.

Betsy - How do you feel about these policy changes?

Hi Peter,
Regrettably, I can't tell you how I feel because I don't know what the policy changes are. I post updates regarding Board of Ed meetings hoping that those that care, will go, and then come back and tell Observer/Deck readers what happened.
I have a job right now that does not allow me attend Monday night meetings. Be assured that if I had gone, I would not only tell you how I feel about the changes, I would share with Deck readers what those changes are, and how others seemed to feel about them too.
Did you go to the meeting Peter?
Anyone else out there go to the meeting? Would love to hear.
Thanks.
I know there are, I think, podcasts of meetings, and I know that there must be official minutes that the public can get access to. I wish the School Board themselves would put out a summation of what happens at each meeting.
The Deck depends on people who go to meetings sharing what happened with other people. If no-one goes to the meeting, everyone finds out much later.
As I have often heard lately, people are so pleased with Superintendent Jeff Patterson overall that they feel that they don't have to be the watch dogs they once were. While I agree with everyone's opinion of Jeff Patterson, I would love to know what the new policy changes and bylaws are, and who thought they needed to be changed and why.

In the interest of transparency, I would like to see the approved board meeting minutes and something similar to the City Council docket posted on the school website. The Council docket has 98% of what people need in order to know what's going on.
