Down the street the fire department came out to catch a wire rubbing against a tree.
How bad?
Well it didn't look bad, but a we watched the tree branch would glow red.
Then...
Hot embers would blow on the house.
With big flashes and pops!
Still glowing as the rain came in!!!

The only real damage this morning was trash cans blown over and their contents all over the street.
Sometimes it is hard to believe that spending $750,000 to save a possible $40,000 a year is worth it.
PS This is a Lakewood street that was completely repaved 5 years ago. Hard to believe that was worth it too.
