Obama lied 4 died... For 7 hours the Embassy was under fire!!!!! He was to busy with plans to travel to Vegas to fight for Americans... He was certainly able to get F-16's to the Muslim Brotherhood in a hurry... He only scrubbed the talking points 12 x's... The only person that exploited Benghazi for political gain was Obama...

If we need to learn from this tragedy so that we can avoid similar incidents in the future, it seems very appropriate to look at the behaviour of the people who appear to have been so unprepared to deal with the situation. Perhaps we should be seeking skilled managers, rather than personalities.

Victoria Toensing, attorney for Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks, says Hicks is a Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton during the 2008 primaries, and President Obama twice for President. Toensing also said that NBC News "spiked" the story this week, prior to Hicks' dramatic testimony before Congress.

Gen. Ham refused to take responsibility for the decision not to provide essential air coverage and other support for the beleaguered personnel at the Consulate. After the information was leaked last week that three urgent requests for support were denied to the Americans trapped in the Consulate and the Annex, President Barack Obama said on Sunday, “The minute I found out what was going on, I gave three very clear directives – Number 1, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to.” According to the highly decorated, four-star General, Carter Ham, the President is lying.

Just call it an Attack. It was an Attack.
"terror" is too innaccurate a word for a country that's just been forcibly regime changed and is in the midst of a civil war.
this never happened to U.S. embassies in Libya when Quedaffy was in charge.
and he was getting old. should have just waited for him to die. I realize this is much less impressive. if it makes you feel better, most future terrorists will continue to come from kuwait or saudi arabia or the Bahrain or the United Arab Emirates.

Exclusive: Benghazi report details security flaws at US diplomatic posts

Security standards exempted

At best, security at the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi was porous. The mission took lease of a 13-acre walled compound on June 21, 2011, two months before the ouster of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and after the shuttering of the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli due to increased fighting in the capital.

Although the State Department reopened the embassy on Sept. 22, 2011, the Special Mission in Benghazi remained open despite serious security concerns. In December 2011, Undersecretary for Management Kennedy approved a one-year extension of the Benghazi post.

A career diplomat, Kennedy was aware of the security problems in Benghazi. The number of Diplomatic Security officers there ranged from five to as few as one, and security was augmented by the February 17 Brigade, a ragtag group of Libyan militants who at the time of the 2012 attack were working under an expired contract and complaining about poor pay and long hours. In addition, the U.S. Special Mission did not have adequate barriers to slow a ground assault.

It was an act of terrorism that was in part caused by the actions of the Obama admin. The Nobel Prize Peace winner failed to consider the consequences of creating a power vacuum in Libya when he assassinated Gaddafi like a dog in the street..

It was an act of war in a continuing warzone.
there are generals and colonels and CIA guys and security contractors to deal with that.
this fussing over when and where to use the word "terror" sounds like worthless legal nitpicking. Many years ago, Richard Rorty said it is time to abandon epistemology.
Would you be this upset if Cheney had regime-changed Libya?

When U.S. commandos grabbed a former al Qaeda operative in Tripoli this month, American forces were just hours away from potentially launching a more dangerous covert raid to capture a militia figure facing charges in the deadly Benghazi terror attack, U.S. officials tell CNN.

U.S. special operations forces were ready, if ordered, to enter Benghazi and capture Ahmed Abu Khattalah, a leading figure in the Ansar Al-Sharia militia. But the mission never materialized.

The United States believes Ansar Al-Sharia was behind the September 2012 armed assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

President Barack Obama has openly said it is a "priority" to bring the Benghazi suspects "to justice." The FBI continues to investigate the attack and Khattalah is under federal indictment, CNN's Evan Perez has reported.

The FBI has also published photographs of people seen at the compound on the night of the raid that it wants to talk to.

U.S. intelligence agencies and military special operations forces have moved in and out of Libya for several months with the permission of the Libyan government. They are looking for opportunities to capture alleged suspects in the Benghazi attack, developing a list of nearly a dozen individuals

Judicial Watch: Defense, State Department Documents Reveal Obama Administration Knew that al Qaeda Terrorists Had Planned Benghazi Attack 10 Days in Advance

The DOD documents also contain the first official documentation that the Obama administration knew that weapons were being shipped from the Port of Benghazi to rebel troops in Syria. An October 2012 report confirms:

Weapons from the former Libya military stockpiles were shipped from the port of Benghazi, Libya to the Port of Banias and the Port of Borj Islam, Syria. The weapons shipped during late-August 2012 were Sniper rifles, RPG’s, and 125 mm and 155mm howitzers missiles.
