Join Lakewood Police Officer Angela Ortiz at our next LOKOL Public Forum as she presents a program about LPD's Neighborhood Patrol Officer program and Neighborhood Block Club program. The interactive fourm will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 27 in Lakewood Public Library’s Multipurpose Room.
LPD’s Neighborhood Patrol Officers interact daily with the residents and business owners to identify situations that impact the quality of life. Together with the people in their assigned areas, they identify the resources available to maintain and improve the neighborhood. Working closely with the four ward officers from the Neighborhood Patrol program, resident-driven Neighborhood Block Clubs help ensure safety and security for each person in our community.
Officer Ortiz is a seven-year veteran of the Lakewood Police Department, having served our community since April 2006. In October 2008 she was Ortiz was assigned her current position as Ward 2 Neighborhood Officer.
Our LOKOL (Lakewood Observer Know Our Lakewood) Public Forum Series is designed to help The Lakewood Observer Project reach our mission: “To attract, articulate, and amplify civic intelligence and community good will in the city of Lakewood and beyond,” and our goal: “To help Lakewood residents and neighbors learn as much as possible about the city.”
Any Lakewood civic entity, non-profit organization, or special interest group wanting to participating in our LOKOL Public Forum Series can contact me at petergrossetti@hotmail.com.
Input and suggestions from Lakewood residents on possible topics to be presented are highly encouraged.

Re: LOKOL looks at Neighborhood Officer & Block Club program
Many, many thanks to Officer Ortiz for presenting a wonderfully insightful program last night! We had a small but mighty crowd ... but does size really matter?
I hope our readers and posters will provide me ideas for future LOKOL Public Forum topics. Just email me at petergrossetti@hotmail.com.
