Cornucopia Kicks Off New Space

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

After a year and many hundreds of thousands of dollars, Cornucopia Inc. opens their new
facility in the old fast food restaurant on Sloane Avenue. This will be a food prep place, and
a place to run the business side of Nature's Bin, the original green, local, healthy farm fresh
store to get organic food in Lakewood.

Same great name, same great people.

Image
Only because McDonald's was so kind in this endeavor, we will not mention their name.

Image
The kitchen. Ironically very little from the last restaurant could be kept or used.
Basically the floor and a couple tables you will never see.

Image
Cutting edge ovens and stoves from Germany.

Image
The drive-through no longer allows driving through, but it does have a great Herb Garden.

Image
Office space.

Image
The basement. I had never even realized it existed.

Scott Duennes, Cornucopia Executive Director, sits at his new desk.

Congratulations on bringing this dream together, Scott and Mary. Thanks for the tour, and
the support you have given this little community paper.

Good luck.

From a modest, humble fruit and vegetable market in a storefront on the east end of Madison Avenue called "The Bin" to this! Congrats!

New buildings are nice but product quality is more important. Their produce is mediocre at best. The produce at the Madison store was much better.

Bill

They use local farms, not sure if they still have their own in North Ridgeville, real organic, not just labeled organic,
so sometimes it ain't the prettiest. That is why they have multiple choices to choose from.

I wish they would speak up (they both know that my hearing is not what it once was.)

How the hell can a good Observer observe if our elected public officials won't accommodate our easvesdropping.

What a wonderful ribbon cutting event! What a wonderful mission: "helping people with disabilities develop their skills, confidence, and workplace."
