For what it is worth. When we set up the Lakewood Observer we saw these days coming and
built into our software is a feature, where we cannot retrieve your passwords. We do that
for a number of reasons all of them related to the security of the member and user.
We knew from practical experiences that many people use the same password for many
things, and that it was a great disservice to our members and users to allow any security
breach like that to ever happen. We can assign new passwords, and while you cannot
retrieve your old password. Instead there is an automatic password generated and sent
to the registered email of the user.
We take the privacy and security of our users far more than other sites, that read cookies,
data mine, and live on email blasts. To my knowledge every other site in town, and
Cleveland data mines, captures information, sells email lists, and blasts away for the man.
FWIW
