Revolution Brass Band (most members are Lakewood natives) perform at the LakewoodAlive-sponsored Front Porch Summer Concert Series on the steps of our Lakewood Library.

A totally righteous performance!

Wow Craig, great photo. I had the same thought as you, though I have to say my kids were saying, "Can we do that?" I had to say no, though it does look great with all of those kids on it. I wonder if it's built to withstand being used as monkey bars.

Good for you, Betsy, teaching your kids to respect art and the artistic process. What I see these children doing here is akin to giving children who visit the Louvre some finger paints and let them loose on Mona Lisa.

Begs the questions: "are our public parks lacking in something?"

Obviously making a yet another phone call to yet another Lakewood bigwig or mover-and-shaker.

Actually, I am saying: "Yes, dear! What's that? Stop at the store on the way home and pick up a gallon of milk, some greek yogurt, roasted red pepper hummus and some nan? Kalamata olives, too. Yes, dear! I'll be home shortly!"

Looks like the 14700 block of Detroit (home to Melt and Geiger's and others) is getting new side walks (and lamp posts?!?)

During the recent heat spell. Weather Forecasters were promising a front and rain to come through on Thursday, then
Friday at 4pm, then 10pm, then 3am if at all.

Image
The thunder and lightning stayed out over the lake. You could see it for hours, but no rain. (Lakewood Park)

Image
For hours it moved parallel to the coast line about 1 mile out. (Lakewood Park)

Image
Then around 2 am it started to get closer to shore, here finally starting to blow over Cleveland.

Today, cool temps, and rain galore. Of course it's the Weekend!

Best (short) conversation of the evening:
Teammate to me: "cut him off at the baseline."
Me to teammate: "you cut him off at the baseline; I'm 55 years old!"
