The City of Lakewood is now taking applications for Fiscal Year 2014 federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding.
CDBG projects must principally benefit low-moderate income Lakewood residents and/or geographies and may encompass a variety of eligible activities including developing decent, affordable for-sale or rental housing, creating and maintaining a suitable living environment, eliminating slum and blight, providing public services, and expanding economic opportunities.
ESG projects must benefit very low-income Lakewood residents and may encompass a variety of eligible activities that prevent homelessness, provide emergency shelter, and rapidly re-house those experiencing homelessness. All proposed projects must satisfy CDBG or ESG program eligibility criteria and must comply with all applicable federal rules and regulations.
Funding applications will be available on weekdays between 9am and 5pm beginning Friday, June 14, 2013 in Lakewood’s Department of Planning & Development located at City Hall, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Basement Level. Applications will also be available for download via the City’s website at http://www.onelakewood.com/Development/CommunityDevelopment/BlockGrantProgram.aspx
Submit two (2) versions of the completed, signed application and all required attachments to the City as follows no later than Monday, July 8, 2013 at 4pm.
Send or hand deliver one (1) unstapled hard copy with original signatures addressed to Dan Wyman, Development Officer, Department of Planning & Development, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Basement Level, Lakewood, OH 44107;
Scan and email one (1) PDF copy to Daniel.Wyman@lakewoodoh.net.
Applications are reviewed/evaluated by Lakewood’s Citizens Advisory Committee. http://onelakewood.com/Boards_Commissions/CitizensAdvisory.aspx Funding decisions will be announced by September, 2013.
