LakewoodAlive leads off our LOKOL Series
The Lakewood Observer Project is pleased to announce its new public forum series Lakewood Observer Know Our Lakewood Series (LOKOL ... get it? Kind of like “local”?).
These monthly, interactive* forums are designed to help The Lakewood Observer Project reach our mission and goal: to attract, articulate, and amplify civic intelligence and community good will in the city of Lakewood and beyond (mission) in order to help Lakewood residents and neighbors learn as much as possible about the city. (goal)
Our first forum—scheduled for Saturday, March 16 from 10:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. in Lakewood Public Library’s Multipurpose Room—will feature Ian Andrews of LakewoodAlive who will provide an expanded report on 2013 activity priorities, as well as an extensive Q&A and Discussion session. All are welcome.
Any Lakewood civic entity, non-profit organization, or special interest group interested in participating in one of our monthly public forums should contact Peter Grossetti, Associate Editor for Community Engagement at petergrossetti@lakewoodobserver.com.
*Definition of INTERACTIVE:
1: mutually or reciprocally active

Great idea, Peter!
I would be shocked if anyone from City Hall actively participates in any of these forums.
However, as the school levy co-chair, Mayor Mike Summers should schedule a forum fast to spread the excellent news about the Lakewood City Schools.
Support the School Levy!

Hi all---
A perfect place to spend a snowy morning--- the Multipurpose room--- if you have kids you can't leave at home you can let them roam in the kids' section of the library which is right outside the door.
It was great spending time with Peter and the cub scouts, hoping the grownups are as much fun. I've seen Ian Andrews in action before, he has a lot of energy and a lot of great ideas, this should be good.

Re: LakewoodAlive leads off our LOKOL Series

Lakewood Observer's Assoc. Editor in charge of community outreach Peter Grossetti
kicks off the first of our LOKOL series featuring LakewoodAlive.

LakewoodAlive's director Ian Andrews gave us insight into what LakewoodAlive has
done, and is trying to do in 2013 and beyond.

Councilman from Ward One, David Anderson listens to Ian Andrews' response after asking a question.

After the presentation then question and answer session many people stuck around to talk
with Ian Andrews, Hilary Schickler about LakewoodAlive, David Anderson about Lakewood
items and have a fun conversation. Thanks to all for coming.
Special thanks to Ian Andrews, Hilary Schickler, Sean McDermott from LakewoodAlive,
and Peter Grosseti for putting this together.

Re: LakewoodAlive leads off our LOKOL Series
Thanks to Peter Grossetti and The Lakewood Observer for inviting me to the first LOKOL forum. I really enjoyed the conversation and appreciated being given the opportunity to discuss LakewoodAlive with the folks in the audience. Thanks also to Lakewood Public Library for hosting the event. Looking forward to many more conversations. Great job, Peter!
