Tyler:

I've taken the opportunity to examine your photos carefully, and as one who has been trained in photographic skills, and who has also done quite a bit of photography and photojournalism in my day, I therefore feel qualified to say that you have done a superlative job here!

Your compositions are well defined. You fill the frames with interest. You utilize your artistic composition points without becoming enslaved to them. You capture the moments very well with your candids, and your backgrounds are free from distraction and clutter.

There are pictures and then, there are photographs. Nice work, photographer!

Back to the banjo, er, the SLR.... :D

Hi Tyler,

I thought I could never be impressed by a photo of the Washington monument again-- my dad had these special Senatorial calendars-- every year for 12 years with breathtaking photos of D.C. landmarks-- I thought I'd seen it all-- but this is the best and most moving photo I've ever seen of that monument.

And the Obama and Michelle photos are like watching the story of a relationship. It felt like being there.

Thank you for making this experience come alive, and for sharing it.

Tyler

Thanks for continuing the wonderful tradition of some of Lakewood's finest photographers
jumping into this mosh pit of word jazz and images.

Over the decade we have been truly blessed at the Observer with so many great images
shared through love and respect for the community.

Thanks.

Tyler-- Great pics! I get into D.C. several times a year and each time is unique. You have caught very special views.
By the way--- who sprung for the Inaugural Ball tickets? The Observer? Ryan Salo perhaps?
