A large crowd gathered Sunday, November 4, at 8:45am to hear Jason Mraz, and
Dr. Jill Biden and Vice President Joe Biden.
Jason Mraz performed.
Retired Sergeant Edward Favre spoke of the quality of the schools and led us in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Dr. Jill Biden, a professor, spoke of the need for education.
She introduced her husband, the Vice President, after a quick hug.
Then Vice President Biden got right to work setting the record straight.
Vice President Joe Biden spoke to a boisterous crowd of 1,200 people in the historical east gymnasium on a chilly Sunday morning at Lakewood High School. Citing issues of trust in his speech, Biden spent the next half hour dismantling the Romney/Ryan agenda.
Flanked by his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, and members of his family, Vice President Biden spoke emphatically about the importance of winning the Buckeye State “Ohio, I need you,” said Biden as the crowd of supporters flashed their sea of blue “Forward” signs.
“This is not your father’s Republican Party,” emphatically stated Biden. “Here’s the deal. They ran on this 5 trillion dollar tax plan. Every study shows that it will raise taxes.” When describing details of the Paul Ryan budget, Biden declared, “The Ryan budget decimates programs that affect the middle class; Mitt Romney called the Ryan budget marvelous and said he would sign it if he became president.”

Speaking to the now debunked argument that President Obama is allowing Jeep to ship jobs out of Ohio’s Toledo-based plant to China, Biden responded, “Romney was described by the Washington Post as a 'pioneer of outsourcing' to China.”
"Whoa! How can you trust these guys?" he said.
Building on the theme of character and distrust, Biden further chided the presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, “Both General Motors and Chrysler have denounced the ads as untrue and a lie.”
Waxing nostalgic to older voters, Biden pivoted to the baby boomer hopefuls in the east gym, “Have you ever seen a time when the CEO’s of two major corporations would publicly, in the last week of a campaign, say that the Republican candidate was lying?”
It got hot, as did the speech and we had a few fainters. That Lakewood Fire and Police
took care of them and made them comfortable.
As the ground game has increasingly becoming crucial, data released by CNN this morning shows that early vote trends favor the president; a theme central to the president’s re-election campaign. 28% of Ohio votes have already been cast, and according to public polling obtained by CNN, President Obama leads 63/35 among those who have already voted.
Smokin' Joe just kept it up, talking about what has been accomplished.
