Natalie
Michael has done a great job getting this project to market. The response has been unbelievable and it is good seeing Michael editing and writing again in print.
But check out their website too!

Is Michael printing his Great Lakes Courier on a moveable type printing press?!??
I ran into my old pal Mike the other day ... his handshake was firm and strong; his forearm bulging with muscles (all from an honest days work cranking that printing press.)
Congrats, indeed, to all involved

Re: Congrats to Michael Gill and Great Lakes Courier!
Hey Natalie and Jim and Peter,
Thanks to you all for your kind words, and especially to Peter for noticing my massive muscles. I work out, you know? Like three times a day to get this way. Ask Lisa. It's all she can do to get my attention any more. That's because after I crank the printing press I move on to the free weights. Up and down, over and over, until my arms ache with the lactic buildup. It's quite a life I lead.
But seriously, folks, the thing is, the Great Lakes Courier rides on the baby seat behind a whole lot of bicycle energy in town. The Great Lakes Courier is a conduit for the people and projects that are making Cleveland a better place to bike.
Like Christopher Alvarado at Cuyahoga County Planning, who spearheaded the effort to create Bike Cleveland, a staffed advocacy organization.
And Bike Cleveland director Jacob VanSickle and his board, who have reached out to cyclists around the region and taken the energy to Cleveland city hall to introduce smart "vulnerable user" legislation--which simply codifies ideas like giving bikes enough room and not charging past and cutting them off with a right turn across their path. Sensible rules for the road.
And of course everyone knows about the work Ohio City Bicycle Co-op does with kids and adults, teaching them how to ride with traffic, how to maintain their bikes, how to recycle the vast supply of post consumer bicycles we have amassed.
And then there's the Cleveland Velodrome. Do you know about this? Under construction now in Slavic Village, opening in June--a steep banked oval track for bicycle racing.
And of course there's Bike Lakewood and the Lakewood Criterium which are already familiar around here thanks to barista Erika Durham and racer Brian Limkemann and Team Spin.
And of course there are many clubs around the region that lead tours, recreational rides, and other bike activities.
All that is what gives the Great Lakes Courier its energy and content. Watch for the June issue. You can get it at Spin and the Root and Blackbird and the Beer Engine and many other bike friendly places around town.
Anybody out there ride your bike to work today?
