Perhaps whenever one criticizes the government, they should remember that there are THREE branches, Executive, Legislative, and Judicial, and that President Obama is not responsible for the issues the Legislative branch in particular.

After all, it is controlled by the opposing party and their approval rate is 10%.

We should be wary of oversimplifying the complicated system that is the American government in favor of pointing fingers solely at one person.

The legislative branch consists of a Senate and a House of Representatives. One party has a majority in the Senate; another party has a majority in the House. And somehow you conclude that one party has control of the entire legislative branch! One might fairly ask which party it is?

Mr Brown,

I was implying that the divisiveness in the government and the fact that the structure of our government does not allow for a unified approach to solving problems. Therefore, one cannot simply dump this mess on the president. You can no more unilaterally declare Obama the sole source of the country's problems today than you could claim Bush to be the sole source of our problems 4 years ago.

And you are correct, technically the Democrats control the Senate, but the Republicans do have more overall seats in Congress. And the Democrats are hardly what I would characterize as a unified front. Then you have to factor in the Tea Party...Hence, divisiveness. Am I wrong?

America's economic policies have been pretty much the same for the last 30 years.
the free trade deals, the de-regulation, the low taxes on the rich.

democrats occasionally get caught up in putting the band-aids on the fall-out of these bad Neo-Conservative and Globalist policies.

During Obama's administration, Congress has been too gridlocked to make any significant changes to the last 30 years of policies. Policies are almost completely identical to the Bush II years.

Liberals in Congress are the least liberal they've been in over 50 years. what is changed is just the spate and volumn of name calling in the commercial media. Reagan and Norquist and Abramoff's ilk have dumbed this country down too much to ever recover.
